Hi, I’m Lauren!

– The AuDHD Psychotherapist. I’m a BABCP-accredited psychological therapist and the founder of M.A.Y.A.

I work online with people aged 16 and over across the UK, offering 1:1 CBT that’s clear, collaborative, and flexible to your needs. While I support clients with a range of difficulties (including anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, panic, and more), my practice is especially focused on neurodivergent experiences — ADHD, autism, and the not-so-neatly-labelled spaces in between.

I'm AuDHD myself, and I didn’t find that out until I was 24. Like many, I spent years trying to fit into systems that weren’t designed for me. That experience — alongside my professional training and NHS work — shapes how I show up in therapy: with empathy, clarity, and a deep respect for individual difference.

In my NHS role, I provide CBT-based support for individuals with a range of presentations, and have worked with clients dealing with everything from social anxiety and low mood to long-term health conditions and trauma responses. I also regularly complete additional professional development through short courses and NHS-based training on areas like ADHD, autism, perinatal mental health, and working with long-term conditions — all of which feed into my understanding and adaptability as a therapist.

💬 My Approach

I’m not a blank-slate kind of therapist — I’m just my full, human self. Goofy, chatty, thoughtful, and curious. I show up with warmth and humour, and I hope that helps you feel safe to do the same.

Sessions with me aren’t about fixing you — they’re about understanding what’s going on, what matters to you, and how we can make things work better for your brain and your life. We'll look at patterns, explore practical tools, and build strategies together at a pace that feels manageable.

While CBT is the foundation of my work, I also draw on additional training in areas like ADHD, autism, long-term health conditions, and trauma-informed care. I tailor therapy to suit your experiences — because what helps you is what matters most.

Evidence-Based Therapy

As a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), my work is rooted in evidence-based techniques that help identify unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.

However, I also recognise that standard therapeutic approaches don’t always fit everyone, especially neurodivergent individuals.

That’s why I take a flexible, person-centered approach, adapting therapy to suit your unique needs, strengths, and ways of thinking.

🐾 Outside of Therapy

I live with my cat Crookshanks — a half-Ragdoll, half-Russian Blue rescue who sometimes makes an unexpected cameo in sessions. When I’m not working, I’m happiest outdoors — hiking up mountains, kayaking down rivers, or wandering through forests.

I’m also slowly building a productivity app designed for neurodivergent brains — it’s a long-term passion project rooted in everything I’ve learned from clients, research, and lived experience.
